Overview
Superior SIP were engaged to supply and install a SIP external wall system within a steel frame for a large bespoke luxury house in the West Midlands area for a property developer. The project was a stunning design, regarded as one of the most remarkable houses to be built in the UK in recent years. The project was signed off to build a two-storey house of approximately 53m (174 ft) in length and 9m (30 ft) on a 6.5 acre plot with far-reaching rural views from the property.
A key driver of the project was to ensure it was sustainable and fitted within the local landscape, hence the property was intentionally designed to resemble agricultural building structures located in the surrounding areas. As part of the project brief we had to conclude all engineering, design and then supply of the SIP with installation. The Project required over 1000sqm of SIP panels over 4 Deliveries by articulated lorry and the time on site of over 6 weeks due to the complexity of the design and on-site connections to the steel. The SIP was finished, membraned and then client was finishing with a thick larch cladding, Brickwork and glazing….
